Description - Cover Supervisor
Qualiteach are currently working with a specialist SEN school in Leeds that is looking to appoint a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their team on a full-time basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and inclusive setting that caters for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, SEMH and communication difficulties. The school is committed to providing a structured, nurturing environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher, maintaining high standards of behaviour and ensuring pupils remain engaged with their learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects and year groups
* Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
* Support pupils with additional needs to access learning effectively
* Ensure work is completed in line with teacher expectations
* Follow school behaviour policies and safeguarding procedures
* Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil progress and engagement
* Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents where appropriate
* Support wider school activities when required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Previous experience working within a school setting
* Experience supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH or behavioural needs
* A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Education or a related field
* Strong classroom management skills
* A confident, resilient and adaptable approach
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A genuine passion for supporting young people
