Roles & Responsibilities
  • Assist the classroom teacher in executing daily lesson activities and maintaining focus.
  • Lead tailored reading, phonics, and writing interventions for groups of varied abilities.
  • Provide empathetic 1:1 support for students with emotional, behavioural, or learning difficulties (SEND).
  • Organise classroom equipment, distribute learning resources, and manage classroom displays.
  • Ensure a safe environment during morning drop-offs, lunch breaks, and outdoor play.
  • Communicate pupil achievements and any behavioural notes clearly to the lead teacher.
Requirements for the Role
  • Practical experience working alongside young children (school, nursery, coaching, or volunteering).
  • Good communication skills and a confident command of spoken and written English and Maths.
  • A patient, warm, and proactive demeanour with a willingness to learn on the job.
  • An Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a fast-moving, multi-disciplinary school team.
