Year 2 teacher

Are you a dedicated year 2 teacher looking for your next teaching role? Academics in Leeds are looking to recruit a motivated year 2 teacher for one of our primary schools based in South Leeds. The position is to commence in September for at least 2 terms with the opportunity for a direct contract with school at Easter 2027. If you are someone who wants to inspire, motivate and support pupils in KS1 then this is the ideal position and school for you.

You will be there to support pupils as they progress through year 2 and prepare for KS1 SATs. As a year 2 teacher you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning within the year 2 classroom, creating an inclusive, engaging, and stimulating environment where every child is supported to thrive. Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will contribute to a creative and engaging curriculum, ensuring pupils develop confidence, independence, and a strong foundation in core subjects.

To be considered for this Year 2 teacher role you must:
Be a creative and reflective practitioner with experience in Year 2 / KS1 SATs preparation Be patient, and resilient, with strong behaviour management skills Passionate about supporting pupils' academic, social, and emotional development Committed to maintaining high expectations and raising attainment for all learners An excellent communicator who builds strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents Dedicated to continuous professional development and whole-school contribution You must also have a DBS on the update service or be prepared to apply for one through Academics and have the relevant teaching qualification/QTS.
