Term of opportunity: Two Mosaic programmes during  academic year.

Location: Leeds and Bradford (school partners listed below).

• Mandatory in-person training session at the King’s Trust Leeds office and up to 3 hours of online training.
• Each programme runs for eight weeks, with approximately one hour per week spent delivering sessions in schools, plus additional time for planning and preparation.
• Education Mentors support two programmes per academic year and attend at least six out of eight Mosaic sessions during each programme.

As a volunteer Education Mentor, you will deliver the Mosaic scheme in a local school. Mosaic consists of 8 mentoring sessions over 8 weeks that build group rapport and cover essential topics such as communication, goal setting, and problem solving. You will work with a consistent group of young people, building meaningful connections and seeing their progress over time. Most projects conclude with a ‘World of Work’ visit with a local employer, allowing participants to experience a contemporary UK workplace.

Key considerations include:

• Recruitment of volunteers throughout the summer to lead delivery in Leeds and Bradford from September.
• Delivery takes place on school sites during usual working hours; flexibility and adaptability are key.
• Exact programme locations, dates and times will be confirmed via summer communication.

• Excellent communication skills and confident facilitation of group activities.
• Willingness to try new approaches in a collaborative environment.
• Genuine interest in engaging with and developing skills of young people.
• An educational background is not required.

You will become part of a dedicated community of volunteers, experience satisfaction from directly impacting young people’s success, and receive comprehensive training and support from a King’s Trust Youth Development Lead.
