The Stephen Longfellow Academy is seeking to recruit an inspirational colleague tothe role of Student Welfare Officer. This role is crucial to our Academy’swork, with the successful candidate providing targeted, short-terminterventions, supporting students to overcome barriers to learning, and promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing. The postholder will play a key rolein ensuring a safe, supportive environment and will work collaboratively withstaff to improve attendance, engagement and outcomes for students.
Qualificationsand Experience
- Arelevant Level 3 qualification (or be willing to work towards), including GCSEEnglish and Mathematics.
- Experience of working with young people, including those with challenging behaviour.
- The ability to build strong relationships and support students to overcome barriers to learning.
- Apatient, resilient approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
