Leeds City College are seeking a Study Support Coach to join our 14-16 Skills Programme.

The 14–16 Skills Programme is a safe and inclusive environment that is accepting of everyone. The design and ethos of the provision allows young people to flourish with smaller class sizes, a reduced curriculum, and focus on vocational based learning. It provides opportunities to young people to maximise their potential, raise aspirations, and embrace their individuality. Relationship building is at the heart of its ethos, and a high staff to student ratio allows learners to thrive and develop holistically.

Please note that although the closing date for the vacancy is specified in the advert, should a suitable candidate for the role be found before this date, the advert may be closed. We therefore advise that if you are interested in applying for the role, to submit an application as soon as possible.

What You Will Do
  • Work closely with all staff, in supporting individual learners or groups of learners.
  • Give academic and development support and coaching to all learners in the 14-16 Skills Programme.
  • Support teaching staff where individual learner behaviour and performance within a group is impacting on the learning of the group as a whole.
  • Work hard to develop effective relationships with learners in a variety of ways including role modelling mutual respect and high aspirations.
  • Motivate and inspire learners to always try their best and show respect.
  • Collaborate with staff to facilitate links with schools, parents and appropriate external agencies.
  • Contribute to individual learner target setting and reviews and contribute to ongoing advice and guidance concerning progression routes pre and post-16.
About You
