Position: Humanities Teacher September 2026

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Teacher of Humanities to join our vibrant school community on a full‑time basis from September 2026
. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator with a passion for History, Geography, Religious Studies, or related disciplines to make a meaningful impact on students’ learning and personal development.

As a Teacher of Humanities, you will play a key role in delivering a broad and engaging curriculum that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning. You will teach across Key Stage 3, with the opportunity to contribute to Key Stage 4 depending on experience and departmental needs. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to develop high‑quality schemes of work, contribute to whole‑school initiatives, and support the academic and pastoral progress of all learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver well‑structured, engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners
  • Teach Humanities subjects across KS3
    , with KS4 experience desirable but not essential
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress in line with school policies
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities within the Humanities department
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes high expectations and respect
  • Participate in departmental meetings, CPD opportunities, and whole‑school events
  • Support the wider life of the school through involvement in extracurricular activities where appropriate
Pre‑requisites
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong subject knowledge across Humanities disciplines
  • Experience teaching KS3
    ; KS4 experience is an advantage
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom‑management skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and continuous professional development
