OverviewProtocol are delighted to be supporting a well‑established education provider in their search for an Animal Care Teacher to join their School of Animal Care and Land Management. This is a fantastic opportunity to deliver animal management lessons to students as part of their programme of study, within a truly unique setting of Leeds – a working farm and historic estate.
While this position does not involve practical delivery, the successful candidate should enjoy being around animals and feel comfortable working within a land‑based, real‑world environment. The role will be primarily based at the working farm; there may occasionally be a requirement to work at the college's campuses within the Leeds area.
The School of Animal Care and Land Management offers a broad range of Further Education, Apprenticeship, and Higher Education (HE) programmes, delivering courses from entry level through to Level
6. Although the role is focused mainly on Further Education learners, our client is seeking someone who can demonstrate flexibility and confidence in working with a variety of learners across different levels.
Deliver animal management lessons to students as part of their programme of study within a farm and historic estate setting. Work primarily at the farm, with occasional visits to campus locations.
Key Requirements- A recognised teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
- Recent teaching or delivery experience within Further Education or schools.
- Up‑to‑date subject knowledge in animal care or a related subject.
- English and Maths qualifications at Level 2 or above.
- Hold a DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for a new one ahead of September).
