John Smeaton Academy is seeking to appoint an inspirational and highly motivated colleague to the role of Behaviour Support Worker. This is a pivotal role within our academy and an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers, achieve success and thrive both academically and personally.
Our Behaviour Support Workers play a vital role in making this vision a reality by building positive relationships with students, promoting high standards of behaviour and providing targeted support to those who need it most. Working closely with our Behaviour Leaders, pastoral teams and senior leaders, the successful candidate will support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them to regulate their behaviour, improve attendance, develop resilience and re‑engage positively with school life.
Key Responsibilities- Act as an advocate for young people, delivering bespoke interventions.
- Work alongside families and external agencies to support students.
- Ensure that every student feels safe, supported and valued.
- Mentor students to overcome challenges in the classroom.
- Lead interventions and support with home visits.
- Work alongside families to remove barriers to learning.
37 hours per week, term time only plus one working week.
