Early in Careers Advisor – Graduates (and EiC programmes)

We are looking for an Early Careers Advisor to support the Funding Learning Lead delivering funded learning programmes including the Yorkshire Water Graduate Management Programme, industry placement years and degree apprenticeships.

Location and Working Hours

Location:

Bradford, moving to Leeds Valley Park in September 2026 (with hybrid working where required). Work type:
Full‑time, permanent, 37 hours per week, Monday‑Friday between 8:00am‑6:00pm; occasional evenings for events.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Funding Learning Lead to deliver funded learning programmes including the Graduate Management Programme, industry placement years and degree apprenticeships.
  • Act as main point of contact and subject matter expert for Graduate and Undergraduate programmes, ensuring compliance and process prioritisation in each learner experience.
  • Provide coaching support and pastoral care to learners.
  • Upskill managers and workplace buddies/mentors about graduate and undergraduate programmes and higher level apprenticeships.
  • Work closely with university partners and other education providers to promote Yorkshire Water as an employer of choice for internships, industry placements, graduate programmes and related roles.
  • Attend university, academic and careers events to support all funded learning programmes.
  • Assist in recruitment activities for Early in Careers programmes and provide feedback when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with other Early Careers colleagues to add value to all learners on programme.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous experience delivering a graduate programme.
  • Previous experience of mentoring/coaching young people.
  • PTTLs or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a customer‑facing role.
  • Resilience in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to manage a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently to inform continuous improvement and resolve issues.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of graduate recruitment practices and understanding of the labour market in the Yorkshire region.
  • Understanding of the Leadership and Behavioural landscape in relation to Graduate programmes.
  • Experience of providing employability mentoring support.
  • Knowledge of how Early in Careers programmes work.
  • Assessor and/or Internal Verified qualifications (or willingness to work towards).
  • Knowledge of safeguarding.
