Job description

Full‑time Individual Needs Assistant (INA), 8.45 am‑3.15 pm, 30 hours per week, term‑time only with MDSA duties. Fixed term until 31 March 2027.

Start date:

1 September 2026.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, supportive team player to work in either Key Stage 1 or 2. The INA will be capable of offering high‑quality input and support with individuals and small groups. You will need a wide variety of skills and a lot of energy.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be highly motivated, creative and flexible
  • Have experience working with pupils with additional needs/neurodivergence
  • Experience in managing behaviour effectively and calmly
  • Be inspirational, very well organised with a positive ‘can‑do’ attitude
  • View working with children as a vocation and love their work
  • Be a team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Be sympathetic and supportive of the Christian ethos (even if not a practising Christian)
  • Be an excellent role model to children, colleagues and parents, exemplifying our core values of love and respect
  • Have high expectations of behaviour and achievement for all children
  • Experience of Makaton would be desirable
