About the Role
Leeds City College are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Assessor/Facilitator to support Health and Social Care and T Level students in completing high-quality work experience and industry placements.
Based at our Quarry Hill campus, this is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in preparing students for careers within the health and social care sector by helping them develop the skills, knowledge, and professional behaviours required in the workplace.
This is a fixed‑term, reduced‑year contract. You will work 40 weeks per year, consisting of term time only plus an additional two weeks to support enrolment activities. The pro‑rated salary for the role is £30,585 with progression up to £34,414. The contract is expected to commence on 24 August 2026 and run until 16 July 2027.
What You Will Do- You will be responsible for coordinating, monitoring and assessing student placements, ensuring students receive meaningful and impactful workplace experiences.
- Working closely with students, curriculum teams and employers, you will manage a caseload of students, conduct workplace visits, review progress and maintain accurate records.
- You will support the development of employer partnerships, facilitate training and assessment activities, and ensure all placement requirements, quality standards and safeguarding responsibilities are met.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, employers and colleagues.
- Passionate about supporting student success and have an understanding of the health and social care sector, vocational learning or work‑based training.
- Proactive, adaptable and committed to delivering high‑quality student support while maintaining accurate records and meeting performance targets.
- Experience of assessment, student support, employer engagement or placement coordination would be advantageous.
- Annual leave: 44 days plus bank holidays for curriculum and management staff; 39 days plus bank holidays for curriculum support and business support staff.
