We're recruiting an Early Years SEND Teacher for a specialist school in North west Leeds, supporting young learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC),
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
, and complex learning difficulties.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Early Years SEND Teacher
, you'll create a safe, nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive at their own pace.

  • Planning and delivering engaging, child-centred EYFS lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Supporting children with Autism (ASC), SEMH, communication difficulties, sensory needs, and complex SEND
  • Using play-based and therapeutic approaches to encourage learning, confidence, and independence
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils and their families
  • Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and a wider multidisciplinary team
  • Celebrating progress in all its forms – from first words and social interactions to academic achievements

Essential Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience within SEND or specialist education settings
  • Knowledge of the EYFS Framework

  • A nurturing, child-centred approach to teaching and learning
  • Confidence adapting lessons and environments to meet varying needs
