Full-Time Teaching Assistant – Hearing Impaired Unit (Primary)

Looking for a role where communication truly changes lives? We’re supporting a welcoming primary school in LS17 with a specialist Deaf and Hearing Impaired Unit, and they’re looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant who can use BSL or Makaton to support their pupils.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with children across primary ages, helping them access learning, build confidence, and develop communication skills in a supportive and inclusive setting.
Your role will include:- Providing consistent support to deaf and hard of hearing pupils
- Using BSL or Makaton to aid communication and learning
- Supporting across 1:1, small groups, and whole-class settings
- Working collaboratively with teachers and specialist staff
- Experience with BSL or Makaton (essential)
- A caring, patient, and proactive approach
- Experience in SEND or education (preferred but not essential)
- Someone committed to making a long-term impact
- Stable, full-time role in a specialist provision
- Strong team support and ongoing training
- Opportunity to build meaningful relationships with pupils
