Design Technology Teacher

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic educator to join a dynamic and supportive school environment. This role is ideal for a qualified DT teacher or an experienced Cover Teacher with a specialism in Art and proven classroom teaching experience who is ready to inspire the next generation.

• Plan and deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Teach engaging, practical sessions that develop students’ design, making, and evaluation skills
• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress effectively
• Create a safe and well-managed workshop environment
• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners
• Support students in developing creativity and problem-solving skills
• Contribute to departmental planning and wider school initiatives
• Maintain strong classroom management and promote positive behaviour

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  or significant experience as a Cover Teacher
• Specialism in Design Technology or Art with experience teaching in schools
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for creative education
• Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 (preferred)
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
• Strong communication and organisational skills
