We're looking for a skilled, caring, and proactive Level 3 Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and ambitious secondary academy in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a highly supportive SEND team, helping students with a range of additional needs to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

What you'll be doing:- Providing high-quality support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in lessons, on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Delivering targeted interventions to improve literacy, numeracy, communication, social skills, and emotional wellbeing
- Supporting teachers to adapt learning materials and classroom activities to meet individual needs
- Encouraging students to develop independence, confidence, and resilience in their learning
- Working closely with the SENDCo, teaching staff, pastoral teams, external professionals, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for students
- Monitoring student progress and contributing to reviews, support plans, and EHCP targets
- Promoting positive behaviour and helping create a calm, inclusive learning environment
- A Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Learning Support qualification (or equivalent)
- Previous experience supporting students with SEND within a secondary school or educational setting
- A strong understanding of a range of additional needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Patience, empathy, resilience, and a calm approach to supporting young people
- The ability to adapt quickly and use initiative to respond to students' individual needs
- Strong teamwork skills and a commitment to working collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff
- A genuine passion for helping every student succeed, regardless of barriers to learning
