Career Teachers is excited to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and well-resourced SEN school in North Leeds for a passionate and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team this September for the full academic year.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support children and young people with a range of additional needs in a nurturing, inclusive, and highly rewarding educational environment. The role will initially be offered through Career Teachers, with a strong possibility of transitioning to a permanent contract directly with the school for the right candidate.

The Role

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to help pupils achieve their full potential both academically and personally. You will play a key role in creating a positive learning environment where every child feels understood, valued, and empowered to succeed.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs
Delivering tailored one-to-one and small-group support
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Promoting student independence, confidence, and social development
Assisting with personalised learning activities and interventions
Building positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues

What We're Looking For

Patient, resilient, and enthusiastic
Experienced in education, care, youth work, support work, or similar settings (desirable but not essential)
Strong communicators with a positive and proactive attitude
