Pastoral Support Assistant – Secondary Schools
Bradford

Join secondary schools across Bradford, supporting students aged 11–18 with their wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and personal development. You’ll work alongside experienced pastoral leaders and safeguarding teams to help create a positive, inclusive environment where every student can thrive.

What you’ll do:
  • Support students with their social, emotional and behavioural development throughout the school day.
  • Work alongside pastoral leaders to deliver interventions for individual students and small groups.
  • Build positive relationships with students to improve engagement, attendance and wellbeing.
  • Help promote positive behaviour and encourage students to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Liaise with teachers and support staff to ensure students receive the guidance they need to succeed.
Who we’re looking for:
  • Compassionate and resilient individuals who are passionate about supporting young people.
  • Graduates, youth workers, support workers, mentors or those considering careers in pastoral care, social work, teaching or education.
  • Excellent communicators who can build trust and positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Patient, proactive and adaptable individuals who can remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential.
What this role offers:
  • Pay: £107.71 – £137.71 per day
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
  • Hands-on experience within pastoral, behaviour and student wellbeing teams.
  • Ongoing support and guidance from experienced education consultants.
  • Excellent preparation for careers in teaching, pastoral leadership, youth work, social work and safeguarding.
  • Opportunities to progress into long-term, permanent and teacher training roles.
