We’re currently recruiting for an EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Primary School in Leeds on a long-term basis starting in September.
You’ll be joining a nurturing school that is passionate about giving children the very best start to their education. With a strong focus on wellbeing, creativity and developing a love of learning, you’ll play an important role in supporting children as they begin their educational journey.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant, Early Years Practitioner or childcare professional looking to work within a welcoming primary school environment.
Your main responsibilities will include:- Supporting children within Reception and the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging, play-based learning activities
- Supporting children’s communication, language and personal development
- Helping deliver phonics, literacy and early maths activities
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive relationships
- Supporting children with additional needs where required
- Observing and recording children’s progress and development
- Creating a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment
Skills:
- Recent experience working within EYFS, Reception or a childcare setting
- A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning is desirable
- Strong understanding of children’s early development
- Experience supporting phonics and early literacy is advantageous
- Patient, nurturing and creative approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for working with young children

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
