WORKING HOURS:
40 Hours per Week JOB OVERVIEW This is a rewarding opportunity to join a growing education provision and deliver practical, engaging learning that helps young people prepare for further education, apprenticeships and careers in the care sector. As the Health and Social Care Tutor, you will deliver Health and Social Care qualifications from Entry Level to Level 2, supporting learners from enrolment through to achievement.
Working as the Health and Social Care Tutor, you will create an inclusive learning environment where learners develop vocational knowledge, employability skills, confidence and resilience. The Health and Social Care Tutor will also provide pastoral and tutorial support, monitor learner progress, maintain accurate records and work with colleagues to support English and Maths achievement. DUTIES Your duties as the Health and Social Care Tutor include:
Teaching, Learning and Assessment:
Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment in Health and Social Care across Entry Level to Level 2 programmes Learner Progress:
Monitor learner progress, use assessment information effectively and maintain accurate learner records Planning and Resources:
Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, individual learning plans and resources that support learner achievement Pastoral Support:
Provide tutorial and pastoral support that helps learners overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes English and Maths Support:
Work with specialist colleagues to support learner progress in English and Maths qualifications Employability and Personal Development:
Embed employability, social skills, digital skills and personal development into teaching and learning Quality and Compliance:
Contribute to course reviews, quality assurance, standardisation meetings and compliant learner administration Safeguarding and Inclusion:
Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, equality, diversity and positive behaviour across the learning environment Work Placements:
Monitor learner work placements and complete health and safety checks in line with organisational procedures CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL PGCE, Cert Ed, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, or equivalent Minimum Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or a related subject Relevant industry experience working with adults in care settings Experience teaching or supporting young people in an education or training environment Ability to plan and deliver learning that meets individual learner needs Strong communication, interpersonal and organisation skills Confident classroom and behaviour management skills Good ICT skills, including Microsoft packages and eILPs Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, learner wellbeing and positive learner outcomes BENEFITS 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays Extra annual paid leave for your birthday, a mental health day and up to 5 volunteering days 4% contributory pension scheme Life insurance Cycle to Work Scheme Employee Assistance Programme, including free and confidential support for you and your immediate family Charity employee discount scheme Dedicated weekly administration day with the opportunity to work remotely Smaller class sizes Supportive and collaborative curriculum team Access to funded professional development This role involves regulated activity and requires an Enhanced DBS check.
