We are currently seeking a Primary SEND Teacher to join our team.
About the School
Located in Headingley, Leeds, Ormston School opened with its first cohort of learners in September 2024 and offers a safe and supportive environment for pupils aged 5-18.
Our aim is to provide a learning environment where young people can thrive, feel supported and safe, and leave school with positive experiences and meaningful outcomes that enable them to contribute to the wider community.

Role Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching the primary curriculum to small, bespoke class groups of up to six pupils, with the support of a Teaching Assistant. You will be required to plan, prepare and deliver lessons that respond to the individual needs and abilities of pupils.
You will be required to:
Plan and teach well-structured lessons to assigned classes, following the school's plans, curriculum and schemes of work
Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and achievements of assigned pupils, making accurate and productive use of assessment
Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils
Set high standards that inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
Promote positive progress and outcomes for pupils
Demonstrate secure subject and curriculum knowledge
Be familiar with the National Curriculum at both primary and secondary level
Adapt learning to meet the needs of learners with SEND
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
A relevant degree
Successful classroom teaching experience
Experience teaching primary-age pupils
Knowledge of the National Curriculum
Knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies
A good understanding of how children learn
The ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils' needs
The ability to build effective working relationships with pupils
Knowledge and understanding of child protection and safeguarding practices and protocols
Knowledge of effective behaviour-management strategies
Good ICT skills, particularly in using technology to support learning
