Performing Arts Assistant

We are looking for an organised, approachable and proactive Performing Arts Assistant (Variable Hours)to support the smooth running of activities within our School of Drama.

This is a varied role, providing practical and administrative support to staff and students and helping us deliver an excellent experience across our Performing Arts programmes.

You’ll be a key point of contact for activity taking place within our Playhouse Square studios and other teaching locations. You’ll help coordinate the day-to-day delivery of teaching and student activity, working closely with colleagues across Leeds Conservatoire and with external venues and partners.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the smooth delivery of teaching and student activities within the School of Drama.
• Providing practical and administrative support to staff and students.
• Liaising with internal teams and external venues to help coordinate activity and timetabling.
• Acting as a first point of contact for external hire venues.
• Helping to ensure the Playhouse Square office is organised, well stocked and functioning effectively.
• Supporting administration relating to learning, teaching and promotional activity.
• Acting as a link between the School of Drama, the Students’ Union and students based at Playhouse Square.
• Creating and posting content across the School of Drama’s social media accounts.

You’ll be someone who enjoys working in a busy, creative environment and can confidently manage a varied workload. You’ll be approachable, organised and comfortable working with a wide range of people.

You’ll have strong communication and administrative skills, good attention to detail and the ability to use your initiative to solve day-to-day problems. An interest in performing arts or experience of working within an education, arts or creative environment would be particularly welcome.
