Leeds City College are recruiting a Student Support Coordinator
to join our Music and Performance Production team based at Quarry Hill. You will be working in a small team to deliver a highly effective pastoral support service to students.
The Music & Performance Production team, based at the Quarry Hill Campus, is a multidisciplinary creative-arts department covering music performance and production, acting, musical theatre, dance and backstage technical production.
It has industry-standard facilities including recording studios, music-production suites, rehearsal spaces, dance studios and the 180-seat Chroma-Q Theatre. Its strong links with organisations such as Leeds Playhouse and Northern Ballet give students opportunities to gain practical, industry-focused experience across performance and production.
Actual salary for 37 hours per week over 39 weeks per year commences at £27,471 with progression to £29,123 per annum.
What You Will Do- Work with curriculum teams to support student success and retention by providing expertise and support in promoting wellbeing and protecting students from harm
- You will provide pastoral support to learners ensuring they are able to progress into a positive destination.
- You will act as the department’s emergency responder having undertaken first aid and mental health first aid training, this may also include training to administer medication. You will also complete the training to become a designated safeguarding officer.
- Recording and reporting of safeguarding referrals within the school, using appropriate client record and MIS systems, ensuring processes are followed.
- Level 2 Safeguarding qualification or willingness to achieve within one year of appointment.
- Substantial relevant experience of supporting students who have support needs.
- English and Maths at Level 2
- Experience of working with vulnerable groups in an educational setting
- Up to date knowledge and experience of a range of safeguarding issues and learning support needs.
