Leeds City College is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join our dynamic team at our Printworks Campus. The postholder will work closely with curriculum staff across Printworks in a varied and rewarding role, designed to support learners’ progress, development, and success throughout their studies.
The successful candidate will provide support within both practical and theory-based learning environments, helping students to develop their skills, confidence, and independence as they work towards achieving their qualifications.
The role involves working closely with teaching and other staff to provide personalised support for learners with a range of needs, ensuring they can fully engage with their learning and make progress. We are particularly interested in applicants who have experience, knowledge, or qualifications within subjects delivered at Printworks, (details of which can be found on our website) as well as knowledge and experience of supporting learners with English and Maths, as this will enable you to provide valuable subject‑specific, Literacy and Numeracy support which contributes to a positive learning experience for our students

Please note, this is a part‑time reduced year role. You will work 18 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. The pro rata'd salary is £11,518 per annum.
What You Will DoProvide support within the classroom and off‑site visits.
Provide support for students with additional needs (for example, wheelchair users, hearing impairment, visual impairment, etc., as necessary.
Be involved in planning, preparation and assessment of learning as part of the course team.
Provide in‑class support to meet the needs of students who have High Needs and SEND.
Provide curriculum teachers/assessors and Learning Support team members with verbal and written reports on students who have High Needs or SEND.
Assist with emergency evacuation plans and practices, and helping with emergency evacuations.
Keep accurate and timely records, recording progress and strategies used, as required.
