EYFS Specialist Teaching Assistant

Are you an experienced EYFS Specialist Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting young learners during the crucial early stages of their education?

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in LS4
. This role is ideal for someone who has a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and can make a positive impact on children's learning and development.

Essential Requirements

Must be confident teaching phonics interventions and small group sessions

Must have experience using the Little Wandle phonics programme

Must be able to conduct and record EYFS observations accurately

Experience supporting children within an EYFS setting

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

A nurturing, proactive and child-centred approach

The Role
  • Supporting teaching and learning across the EYFS classroom.
  • Delivering Little Wandle phonics sessions to individuals and small groups.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and adapting support where required.
  • Conducting detailed observations in line with EYFS requirements.
  • Contributing to assessments, learning journeys and developmental records.
  • Supporting children's social, emotional and academic development.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, parents and wider school staff.
  • This role is part-time; however, there is flexibility for a conversation around this.

The successful candidate will be passionate about early years education, knowledgeable in phonics delivery, and confident in observing and assessing children's progress. You will be committed to creating engaging learning experiences that help every child achieve their potential.
