SEN Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team,working with a child in Year 3 who has complex physical needs and hearingloss. This post will be based at Moor Allerton Hall Primary School, both in Year 3 and in our Deaf and Hearing Impaired Team (DAHIT) unit.

It is essential that you have a British Sign Language qualification (Level 1 or above), and your responsibilities will include:

• Delivery ofphysiotherapy programmes
• Completion of feedingroutines using tube feeding
• Completion of intimatecare routines
• Completion of moving and handling transfers
• Delivery of personalised learning plans within the main classroom and DAHIT resourced provision

Training for feeding, intimate care and physiotherapy routineswill be provided before the role commences, and you will be supported by theSENDCos, Lead Teacher for the Deaf and class teachers.

The hours will be 31.25 per week, worked as 8.45am to 3.30pm daily.

The role will have a half hour lunch break, and a paid half hour over thelunchtime period being with the children outside. The post is to work term time only althoughyou will be paid to attend Training Days if appropriate.

The actual pay will be £17,827 - £18,396 paid across the year.
