Librarian

Are you passionate about reading,literacy and helping young people develop a lifelong love of books? John Smeaton Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Librarian toplay a key role in supporting our students' learning and personal development through the effective management of our academy library. Working closely with students and staff, you will create a welcoming and inspiring environment that promotes reading for pleasure, independent learning and academic success.

Potential applicants should have:

• GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
• A passion for reading, literacy and education, with a commitment to inspiring young people to become confident readers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
• Good ICTskills and the ability to support the effective management of library resources and systems.
• Experience of working with young people in an educational setting and supporting their learning and development.
