Trauma Specialist Teaching Assistant

Yorkshire and Humber/ contract / £100 - 130 per day

Teacher Active is proud to be working with a specialist secondary SEMH setting in Keighley. The setting supports young people across KS3 to KS5 with social, emotional and mental health needs, providing an environment where pupils can access education alongside appropriate emotional and behavioural support.

The setting is looking to take on a Trauma Specialist Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis, supporting pupils across KS3 to KS5. The successful Trauma Specialist Teaching Assistant will work closely with pupils and staff to provide consistent classroom support, build positive relationships and help young people with SEMH needs engage with their education.

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs
• Experience working with young people who have experienced trauma
• Experience supporting secondary-aged pupils is desirable
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A patient, resilient and supportive approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with young people
