About the role:
Justteachers is seeking a Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in the Leeds area on a long-term basis.
This full-time role is available to start immediately, with shortlisting currently underway. The school is dedicated to providing a structured, inclusive, and nurturing environment where students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) can achieve both academically and personally
Key Responsibilities:- Supporting secondary-aged pupils with SEND to engage positively in lessons and the wider school environment
- Assisting with the delivery of tailored learning activities and differentiated support
- Implementing behaviour management strategies, emotional regulation techniques, and individual support plans
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to support student progress and wellbeing
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, youth work, or support work
- Proven experience supporting children or young people with SEND, ideally in a secondary setting
- Strong knowledge of behaviour management, de-escalation strategies, and emotional regulation approaches
- Two professional references, ideally from education or school-based settings
