17 is supporting a global energy intelligence and data analytics business with the appointment of a Senior Market Analyst to support the expansion of its onshore wind intelligence offering.

The organisation is a recognised leader in scientific data, market intelligence, and digital analytics, providing high-quality insight and decision-support tools to energy companies, investors, developers, and supply-chain stakeholders worldwide.

As part of a specialist research and intelligence division, this role will help develop a new, market-leading onshore wind intelligence service alongside an established offshore renewables platform.

The Role

This position would suit an analyst with an existing understanding of the onshore wind sector and a strong analytical approach to market forecasting, policy analysis, and data interpretation.

You will work collaboratively across research, innovation, and consultancy teams, taking ownership of onshore wind market coverage and contributing to high-value datasets, reports, and client-facing insight.

Purpose & Scope
  • Support the development of onshore wind databases, analytics solutions, and market reporting
  • Lead market coverage for onshore wind intelligence
  • Analyse policy developments, market trends, and industry dynamics
Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain comprehensive, up-to-date databases of onshore wind projects across Europe and globally
  • Monitor and update technology and stakeholder datasets
  • Lead the production of onshore wind market intelligence reports
  • Engage with customers and industry stakeholders and support consultancy assignments
  • Present insights externally at industry events and webinars
  • Contribute to quality control and data validation processes
  • Use artificial intelligence tools responsibly to improve accuracy, efficiency, & insight quality
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g. economics, business, mathematics, engineering, energy journalism, or policy analysis)
  • Strong research capability and analytical mindset
  • Prior knowledge of the onshore wind sector
  • Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative analysis
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work collaboratively
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Hands‑on experience in onshore wind analysis or market reporting
  • Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience
  • Advanced sector, technical, or market knowledge
  • Familiarity with data languages such as SQL
  • Additional skills in a specific area such as economics, coding, or languages
