With a rich history of excellence in designing, constructing, and maintaining buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide, we are now offering exciting new opportunity for a Shift Plant Attendant to support our technical team at the Leeds Generating Station complex.

Equans Embedded Energy operates multiple customer sites with large-scale embedded energy capacity across the UK, providing specialist management of onsite generation for industrial processes and the ability to export to the Grid. We combine multiple technologies to meet our customers’ specific needs, and provide design, build, operate and maintenance services. Our skills and expertise can help industrial businesses to achieve their carbon reduction goals.

We are experts in many technologies, including combined heat and power (CHP), biomass, and energy from waste. By locating generation on customers' sites we provide our customers with industry leading safety management, reduced energy costs and carbon footprint and assured energy security for their operational needs.

Key activities

Assist in the operational control of the plant, correct and report any abnormalities, record plant performance and carry out routine operational duties.
Promote an Excellent Safety Culture and the highest standards of operational performance.
Operate any item of plant from local or Control Room as directed.
Perform normal start up and shut down operations and adjustments to maximise efficiency and availability.
Logging and monitoring of Plant condition.
Fault finding and reporting.
Working time:
Complex shift pattern – three on, three off;
Days & Nights, 12 hours per shift
Operational surveillance of all plant and operation of systems to retain the required performance.
Isolate plant in times of emergency.
Carry out unsupervised routine maintenance, remedial work and maintenance of an immediate nature and general duties to ensure reliable and efficient operation of the plant.
Operate the PPM system including the feedback of information and data.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Steam Raising Plant and/or work in an Energy Centre
BOAS Operator – Preferred
Demonstrable understanding of Health & Safety at Work.
Understand the requirement for safe systems of work and permit to work systems.
Be physically fit for the job and be willing to undergo a medical examination.
Must be computer literate in Microsoft packages.
