Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement Engineer
BD invites applications for the Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement Engineer role, focusing on driving operational excellence and supporting manufacturing processes through innovative engineering solutions. The position involves improving production efficiency, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality and plant performance.
Main Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate continuous improvement programs and site-wide excellence initiatives
- Apply lean principles and integrate design-for-manufacture practices across operations
- Conduct investigations, process capability studies, and validation activities for equipment and processes
- Develop and implement tactical plans for equipment installations, modifications, and enhancements
- Oversee chemical process characterization, scale-up activities, and associated validations
- Direct safety and environmental programs to maintain compliance and operational integrity
- Manage facility maintenance and improvement projects to support business continuity
- Establish engineering controls and specifications for manufacturing processes and equipment
- Degree in engineering, preferably chemical or mechanical
- Experience in manufacturing technical operations, ideally within regulated environments
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with GMP requirements for medical devices
- Knowledge of chemical or polymer processing and understanding of EHS systems
- Effective communicator with a collaborative approach to achieving goals
£35,000 + benefits
£32,400.00 - £55,100.00 GBP Annual
Benefits & Working ArrangementsBD expects a minimum of 4 days of in‑office presence per week for most roles, while also recognizing the importance of flexibility and work‑life balance. Remote or field‑based positions may have different workplace arrangements, which will be indicated in the job posting.
