An established and growing multi-disciplinary consultancy is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to support increasing workloads and play a key role in the continued development of its structures team.

Based in Leeds, the role will involve delivering structural design solutions across a broad portfolio of projects, including commercial, industrial, healthcare, leisure, retail, and residential developments.

The Role

You will be responsible for leading and delivering structural designs on both new-build and refurbishment projects, including the assessment, adaptation, and reuse of existing buildings. The position requires strong technical capability across all major structural materials, as well as hands-on experience with foundations and retaining walls.

You will also be involved in mentoring junior engineers, preparing detailed calculation packages, undertaking structural inspections, and representing the business at meetings and site visits.

Key Responsibilities

Structural design for new-build and refurbishment schemes
Assessment and modification of existing and heritage / listed buildings
Preparation of clear and comprehensive structural calculations
Structural inspections and report writing across varied building types
Client, architect, and project team liaison
Attendance at design team meetings and site visits
Supporting fee proposals and technical input at bid stage
About You

Chartered Structural Engineer (MIStruct

E) or working towards Chartership
Minimum 4 years' UK-based consultancy experience
Strong understanding of Eurocodes and current technical standards
Proficient in TEKLA and TEDDS (essential)
Confident user of AutoCAD
Sound knowledge of construction methods, H&S, and legal regulations
Experience working with heritage or listed buildings
Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel
