What you’ll be doing
No two days will be the same in this role – you’ll get the best of both worlds with a mix of site and office-based work. You’ll take ownership of projects, shape designs from concept to delivery, and mentor the next generation of engineers.
- Lead and inspire a collaborative, innovative team.
- Deliver technically excellent designs and solutions across earthworks, foundations, slope stability, pavements, and retaining structures.
- Oversee ground investigations, from site logging to reporting, aligned with BS5930 and Eurocode 7.
- Use industry-leading geotechnical software (Slope W, Plaxis, Geo5 or similar) to deliver innovative solutions.
- Build strong client relationships and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality.
- Champion continuous improvement, bringing fresh thinking and best practice into every project.
- You’re seen as a go-to geotechnical expert

We’re looking for someone who blends technical expertise with leadership and a genuine passion for geotechnical engineering.
- Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (or Engineering Geology with geotechnical design experience); a Master’s is an advantage.
- Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it).
- At least 5 years’ experience, with a proven record of leading smaller projects and contributing to complex schemes.
- Strong geotechnical design and analysis skills (Slope W, Plaxis, Geo5 or similar).
- Excellent communication and people skills – with a collaborative, supportive approach.
