Due to continued success and future business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Land and Planning Graduate to join our team based at our North Yorkshire head office in Wetherby.

The Role

Joining us as our Regional Land and Planning Graduate, you will undergo a structured and tailored development plan which will enable you to progress and excel within the Land or Planning teams at Avant Homes Yorkshire

The role will involve working collaboratively with the Land, Planning and Technical teams in order to support them in the development, implementation and delivery of the Region's land acquisition plan by advising on land bids and planning applications to successfully grow the region in alignment with company growth.

Key duties and requirements

Working as our Land & Planning Graduate, you will be working within a fast-paced environment where key skills will be nurtured on a day-to-day basis to develop comprehensive technical and legal knowledge and the exposure to advance your financial/commercial competence.

Your key duties will include;

Site searching and identification of future land opportunities.
Assisting in the preparation of land bids and the land approval authorisation process.
Reviewing and advising on appropriate planning policy related to new development opportunities.
Administrative support to the regional Land & Planning teams and where necessary to the Group Land & Planning team.
Assisting and preparing pre-application and planning applications submissions on successful land bids.
Updating landowners and land agents on progress of land bids and planning applications.
Attending weekly Land and Technical meetings and note/minute taking.
Assist in providing weekly and monthly reporting documents.
Developing technical, professional, personal and leadership skills as part of your development plan.
Liaison with third party providers.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Graduate with a relevant accredited degree such as Planning, Property/Real Estate who is looking to kick start their land and planning career.

We are also open to speaking with candidates with previous experience working in a planning/ house building environment, that are looking to further their career.

To be considered for this role you will also possess:

Good written and verbal communication skills
A confident IT user with strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills and an ability to pick up new IT systems quickly
Attention to detail, ensuring that work is accurately completed
A team player with strong communication skills and a can-do attitude
The confidence to engage with people and tackle problems as and when they arise
A full UK driving licence
