Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience of working for tier 1 civil engineering contractors required for contract opportunity in Leeds.
This role involves working on a challenging civil engineering project valued at £350million being delivered using the NEC contract.
Key Responsibilities- Encouraging and developing a culture of commercial awareness within the team
- Ensuring the site team adheres to group procedures and governance
- Composing internal commercial reports and any other required documentation
- Devising valuations/applications for payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contract
- Constructing cost reports to the client with contractually compliant supporting documentation
- Administering subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of detailed requisitions, monitoring and authorising subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts
- Preparing and managing subcontract and material procurement schedules
- Undertaking contract administration, including change management and maintaining associated registers
- Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering, and change
- Using cost allocation/coding that satisfies both internal and external requirements
- Measuring quantities in accordance with the standard methods of measurement as required
- Engaging positively with the client's equivalent position and developing, motivating, and managing the performance of entry-level staff
- BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification
- Experience working for a tier 1 contractor
- Strong civil engineering project experience
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or a Quantity Surveyor looking to step up
- Registered with RICS/ICES and working towards chartership
- Excellent knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract (NEC) and Standard Methods of Measurement
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to negotiate and persuade others
- Full driving licence and flexibility with travel
