Senior Wastewater Hydraulic Modeller - Overview

Our client, a leading consultancy, is currently seeking a skilled Senior Wastewater Hydraulic Modeller to join their team on a permanent basis. This role involves developing and analysing hydraulic models, creating actionable strategies, and exploring innovative approaches to urban water management.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the review, updating and calibration of complex Integrated Catchment Models (ICM) using diverse data sources, ensuring model accuracy and reliability for critical project decisions
  • Plan and supervise asset flow surveys and other field investigations to acquire high‑quality data necessary for model development
  • Drive the optioneering process by using modelling insights to identify, evaluate and develop potential solutions
  • Manage ICM modelling programmes, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget delivery while maintaining high technical standards and effectively managing resources and stakeholders
Requirements
  • Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, or a related scientific discipline
  • Extensive hands‑on experience and advanced proficiency with ICM modelling software
  • Substantial experience working directly for or on behalf of a water or sewerage undertaker
  • Robust understanding of wastewater network assets theory and operation
  • Excellent report writing and numerical skills
  • A highly collaborative and proactive mindset, with the ability to work effectively within multi‑disciplinary teams
  • Capability for independent work, with a high degree of technical judgment
  • Experience in mentoring and developing junior modellers, providing technical guidance and support
