Civil Engineer; Water

We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Civil Engineer to join our design team in Leeds as part of a multi-disciplinary department providing detailed designs for water related projects in the UK.

This role can be worked flexibly with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office and the option of adjusted start and finish times.

Our Leeds office is relocating to Leeds City Centre mid-2026.

Working within our water team on multi-disciplinary projects, you will act as a Design Engineer and undertake the delivery of design solutions and associated outputs and the co‑ordination with other disciplines.

• Support team members to clarify the project brief, agree deliverables, key milestones, project methodology, quality assurance and control strategy.
• Undertake elements of the detailed design as directed: e.g., calculations, drawings, sketches and reports to achieve the optimum solution for the project.
• Assess, document and communicate design changes to team members and be aware of work requirements and taking personal responsibility in delivering this to agreed time, cost and quality requirements.
• Attend close‑out meetings and recommend/implement improvements to policy, processes and project management methods.

• A relevant degree and be working towards or plan to work towards Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution such as ICE or CIWEM.
• Strong interpersonal / team working skills, with a good working relationship with all levels of the organisation, clients and contractors together with the ability to communicate in a fluent and positive manner both verbally and written.
• Knowledge and experience of water and wastewater design including an understanding of the basics and the integration of multidisciplinary elements including process engineering and MEICA.
• Experience in design, contract and tender preparation, tender assessment and contract administration.
