Field Service Engineer | Battery Energy Storage & Temporary Power

South West England + UK Travel

We are partnering with an innovative and rapidly growing provider of battery energy storage and temporary power solutions to recruit a Field Service Engineer for their UK operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on engineer who enjoys variety, autonomy and travel. Working as part of a small, close‑knit technical team, you will play a key role in supporting the deployment, commissioning and maintenance of advanced energy storage systems across the UK.

The Role

This position combines workshop‑based activities with field service work, typically split between:

  • Supporting equipment preparation, testing and maintenance from a South West England facility.
  • Travelling to customer sites across the UK to commission, maintain and troubleshoot battery energy storage systems.
  • Performing routine servicing, inspections and fault‑finding activities.
  • Carrying out component replacements and preventative maintenance.
  • Supporting system decommissioning and redeployment projects.
  • Participating in a remote monitoring/on‑call rota.

This role offers significant exposure to the fast‑growing clean energy and battery storage sector while providing the opportunity to develop specialist technical expertise.

What We’re Looking For

We are open to candidates from a range of engineering backgrounds, including:

  • Generators and temporary power.
  • Electrical installation and maintenance.
  • Industrial electrical systems.
  • Events, festivals or mobile power solutions.
  • Renewable energy or energy storage technologies.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
  • Flexibility to travel extensively throughout the UK.
  • Excellent communication and customer‑facing abilities.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to work.

Relevant ECS, CSCS or electrical qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
