Location: This role will initially be based in Bradford but we’re moving our office to Leeds Valley Park in September 2026, so you’ll be based there in the future where we operate Hybrid Working with two to three office a week.

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

Our team leads Yorkshire Water’s engagement with regulators and plays a key role in shaping how the water sector evolves in response to changing expectations, policy direction and regulatory requirements.

We ensure the business stays ahead of regulatory change, influences sector thinking, and represents the interests of our customers and communities with clarity and credibility.

Working at the centre of regulatory strategy, we build strong, constructive relationships with the Environment Agency, Ofwat and other regulatory bodies. We coordinate high‑profile submissions—including price reviews and calls for evidence—ensuring they are robust, well‑evidenced and focused on delivering the best outcomes for customers.

As a central source of regulatory expertise, we provide clear, high‑quality advice and insight to senior leaders and teams across the business, helping Yorkshire Water navigate complexity, manage risk, and seize opportunities as the regulatory landscape evolves.

Where you fit in
  • Develop clear, detailed internal briefings on regulatory proposals, ensuring stakeholders understand implications and opportunities.
  • Coordinate and communicate updates from regulatory engagement, including meetings with Ofwat, the Environment Agency and other bodies, escalating where required for Director‑level approval.
  • Manage consultation processes end‑to‑end, ensuring they are shared with the right stakeholders, responses are coordinated, and submissions are high quality and on time.
  • Work collaboratively across teams—including Environment and River Health, Asset Management, Corporate Affairs, and Engineering—to track and influence regulatory opportunities.
