We're currently seeking an Associate Structural Engineer to join our well-established Structures team in Leeds. You will work alongside a talented and supportive team of engineers, gaining hands‑on experience and mentoring from senior engineers and our leadership team. RoleAs a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, managing, and delivering structural engineering projects across multiple sectors, including education, healthcare, retail, and industrial projects. You will play a key role in liaising with clients, coordinating with other disciplines, and mentoring junior engineers as part of a growing team. The role offers fantastic potential for career progression and is ideal for an engineer looking to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead structural design and analysis for a variety of projects across different sectors, including education, healthcare, retail, and more.
- Work closely with clients and stakeholders, maintaining effective communication throughout project life cycles.
- Manage and coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and contractors.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, sharing knowledge and providing guidance.
- Undertake technical design reviews and ensure designs meet relevant standards and regulations.
- Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and schedule management.
- Develop and prepare detailed design calculations, specifications, and reports.
- Ensure adherence to safety, sustainability, and quality standards throughout projects.
- Assist with business development, contributing to proposals and client meetings.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to support your progression towards chartership.
- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
- Number of years experience in structural engineering, ideally working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer.
- Strong experience in structural design, with proficiency in software such as Tekla SD, Tedd’s, Master Series, and ETABS.
- Knowledge of Revit would be beneficial for understanding models.
- Experience managing and coordinating projects and teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive, collaborative approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
