Protection and Control Engineer- Distribution

Key Responsibilities

• Delivery of detailed protection and control design for transmission and distribution projects (33kV-132kV)
• Production of protection schematics, single line diagrams, specifications, and technical documentation
• Review and interpretation of client requirements to develop appropriate engineering solutions
• Attendance at client and project meetings, representing engineering input clearly and professionally
• Coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams and external stakeholders including DNO/DSOs
• Support project delivery from early-stage design through to completion
• Contribution to technical reports, design reviews, and engineering assurance processes
• Mentoring and supporting junior engineers where required
• Ensuring compliance with relevant UK, European, and industry standards

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Protection & Control
• Proven experience delivering protection design within UK transmission and distribution projects
• Strong understanding of high-voltage systems (33kV-132kV)
• Experience producing detailed protection design documentation and technical deliverables
• Working knowledge of CDM regulations and associated design risk responsibilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple project demands
