Location: This role will initially be based in Bradford but we're moving our office to Leeds Valley Park in September 2026, so you'll be based there in the future.

Work type: Permanent contract, working full time, on average 37 hours per week Monday-Sunday. You are employed in this role on an annualised hours contract which totals 1929 hours per year, eg- an average of 37 hours per week. Your normal attendance days and daily hours will be in accordance with the operational shift rota; the rota will either be a 12hr/365-day cover or a 24hr / 365-day cover.

To support the WW Duty Operations Engineer in the co-ordination of responses to potential pollution incidents. Co-ordinating resources, mitigation, maintaining clear timelines through Pollution Service Events and notifying regulators.

The role plays a key part in protecting the environment, improving resilience and enabling Yorkshire Water to meet its regulatory and performance commitments through efficient, risk-based planning of work.

As a Duty Operations Coordinator you will play a key role in protecting customers and the environment by coordinating operational responses across the wastewater network. You'll support the Wastewater Duty Operations Engineer in delivering operational excellence through effective planning, incident management and resource coordination, while maintaining a strong focus on Health & Safety, regulatory compliance, environmental protection and the delivery of Yorkshire Water's Performance Commitments.

You will;

  • Coordinate responses to high-priority, complex and emergency wastewater incidents, including pollution events, flooding, blockages and asset failures.
  • Support the management and escalation of incidents, ensuring they are resolved as quickly and effectively as possible whilst minimising customer and environmental impact.
  • Use operational data, risk information and network intelligence to prioritise, plan and coordinate activities across wastewater assets.
  • Continually seek opportunities to improve planning processes, incident management activities and ways of working to enhance performance and efficiency.
