Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Design Coordinator to work with our Applied Engineering Team based out of our London office.

This role involves delivering critical infrastructure projects across the UK, including design of civil and structural elements for water, energy, power, and transport projects.

Responsibilities
  • Review submissions for quality and sufficiency.
  • Lead design engineering matters on small‑to‑medium projects.
  • Coordinate and manage design by internal designers, consultants, suppliers, and interface contractors.
  • Ensure that Aconex (or client approved alternative CDE system) is properly set up and used.
  • Track and report on design progress against the project programme.
  • Consider constructability and permanent works in relation to temporary works.
  • Review design progress and detail using CAD/BIM tools.
  • Monitor and report on Design NCRs and associated close‑out.
  • Liaise with surveyors, buyers, contract managers, project managers, site managers, and estimators to foster a team approach for each project.
Qualifications
  • HNC/HND in civil engineering, construction or similar.
  • Professional affiliation with an applicable Engineering Institution or evidence of ongoing progression.
  • Experience with engineering design on Power T&D, renewables, or multidisciplinary EPC projects.
  • Exposure to design management/coordination and construction experience.
  • Experience with the Autodesk suite including AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.
  • Digital familiarity with BIM, CDEs and document control systems and processes.
