Our client, a prominent consultancy in the water sector, is currently seeking a Senior/Principal Civil Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Leeds or Newcastle. This role includes secondments into Stantec and involves working on both infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects under the IR35 regime.
Key Responsibilities- Leading and delivering civil engineering projects within the water sector, including both infrastructure and non-infrastructure works
- Providing technical expertise and overseeing project teams to ensure high-quality project delivery
- Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, including secondments into Stantec
- Preparing and reviewing technical reports, designs, and specifications
- Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
- Managing project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively
- Mentoring and developing junior engineers within the team
- Maintaining strong client relationships through effective communication and project management
- Significant experience in civil engineering, preferably within the water sector
- Strong technical knowledge and experience in both infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools
- Excellent project management and organisational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
- Understanding of IR35 regulations and their implications on contract work
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
