Globally, each year we recruit hundreds of graduates and students who help us see things differently and solve the most complex challenges facing our clients, climate and communities.

On this 10–12-month Internship you'll work alongside skilled professionals and from day one you will be working on real life meaningful projects - adding value to clients, while exploring challenges with curiosity and creativity. You'll learn from others and begin creating your professional network ready for when you graduate. There will be regular learning sessions with our leadership team, opportunities for site visits to local projects and all kinds of social events that will support your learning and development.

Our aim is to welcome as many students as possible back into our other programmes, be that another internship or potential graduate position. This placement is the stepping-stone to your future. Dedicated to sustainable development, Arup is a collective of designers, consultants and experts working globally. Founded to be humane and excellent, we collaborate with our clients and partners using imagination, technology, and rigour to shape a better world.

Our growing team of 22 civil engineers and apprentices deliver projects for a whole host of clients and organisations including government agencies (both national and local), local authorities, private developers, contractors, and utility companies. We work on varied, exciting and often high-profile projects in the fields of flood risk, alleviation and river engineering, water and wastewater and sewerage systems including but not limited to;

• Developing drawings and models using AutoCAD or Civil 3D
• Applying Excel for measurements, calculations and costing
• Preparing specifications for surveys or construction of solutions
• Reviewing survey deliverables against specifications
• Supporting design to deliver solutions
• Drafting technical reports
• Conducting site visits for data collection and visual surveys

For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes:

A degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering;
Structural Engineering.

Skills and experience in "Microsoft Office" and "Auto Desk Civil 3D"
