Job Description Overview The Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a hands-on role in shaping the delivery of some of the UK's most exciting and nationally significant infrastructure projects - from transforming rail networks and modernising water systems to developing major highways, defence facilities, and nuclear programmes. As part of integrated project delivery teams, you'll learn how large engineering schemes come together by supporting the development of project timelines, tracking progress on live work, and helping teams make informed decisions that keep complex projects moving.
This is a role where you won't just observe - you'll contribute directly to planning real engineering outcomes, gaining valuable experience, insight, and responsibility from day one. This will allow you to gain unparalleled exposure by learning and developing on some of the UK's most significant engineering and infrastructure projects, with cross industry rotations and hands on experience that will accelerate your growth and set you apart in the early stages of your career.
Lead and support the commercial delivery of complex infrastructure projects, helping to manage cost, change, risk, value, and contractual performance. Build trusted relationships with clients and project teams through clear communication, proactive engagement, and practical commercial advice. Apply your knowledge of the NEC suite and wider commercial processes to support well-informed decisions and disciplined project delivery. Contribute to procurement, contract administration, forecasting, reporting, and commercial governance activities across commissions.
Support, coach, and develop colleagues, helping to create an inclusive team environment where people can grow, contribute, and thrive. Work with senior leaders to strengthen our service offering, identify opportunities, and enhance the value we bring to clients.
- Experience in quantity surveying or commercial management within infrastructure, construction, or a related built-environment sector.
- A good understanding of commercial delivery, contract administration, cost management, change control, and risk management.
- Working knowledge of NEC contracts, or a willingness to continue developing your expertise in this area.
- NEC project manager accreditation highly desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with clients, partners, and colleagues.
- A collaborative mindset, with an interest in supporting others and contributing to a healthy, high-performing team culture.
- Professional membership, or progress towards membership, with a relevant body such as RICS or CICES is highly desirable.
- Competitive salaries
- Employee rewards
- Brilliant range of benefits you can tailor to suit your own health, wellbeing, financial and lifestyle choices
- Opportunities for training and professional development to grow your skills and expertise
- Hybrid working culture
- Flexible holiday allowances to balance a great job and fulfilling personal life
- Be rewarded
