Mechanical Design Engineer – Pressure Equipment & Energy Projects

If you have experience designing pressure vessels and are looking for greater responsibility, more technically varied projects and the chance to develop your specialist knowledge, this opportunity could be an excellent fit. We're supporting an established international engineering business delivering bespoke engineered equipment for the energy sector.

The company is expanding its mechanical engineering team and is open to considering both developing and senior engineers. Why consider this opportunity? Work on varied pressure vessel and heat exchanger projects. Take ownership of mechanical calculations and engineering design decisions. Develop your knowledge of international pressure equipment codes. Gain exposure to multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing. Support equipment through design, manufacture, inspection and commissioning.

For more experienced engineers, take on technical checking and mentoring responsibilities. Who we're looking for You'll have a mechanical engineering background, experience with pressure vessel design calculations and knowledge of at least one recognised pressure vessel code.

Experience with PV Elite, COMPRESS or equivalent design software is required. Around 3 years of relevant experience is normally expected, with senior-level consideration for engineers bringing approximately 6 years and experience checking the work of others. You don't need to know every pressure vessel code or already be experienced in every type of heat exchanger.
