WHAT’S

THE ROLE ?

We’re looking for an experienced Game Writer to join our internal writing team on Elite Dangerous.

In this role, you’ll own and deliver high-quality written game content, collaborating with various disciplines to ensure the game's world building aligns with the broader creative vision, while adhering to technical constraints and localisation requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Partnering with the Game Director and discipline leads of the project to understand, define, and deliver text and dialogue for the game.
  • Collaborating closely with the Design team to shape the game’s narrative design and general player experience.
  • Estimating, scheduling and managing all text requirements to ensure work is delivered to a high standard, on-time and in-budget.
  • Promoting good narrative and text authoring practice across the project, driving the creation of style guides, glossaries and other supporting documentation.
  • Reviewing text content from developers and external writers, preparing it for in-game use.
  • Liaising with our Localisation team to adapt written content, ensuring it is suitable for our global audience.
  • Supporting the voice casting and recording processes, providing any necessary materials and delivering feedback.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • Experience working in a writing or narrative capacity in commercial games, preferably in AAA.
  • Strong copywriting and editorial skills, covering all written and spoken game content.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to foster strong cross-disciplinary relationships to understand the needs of stakeholders and other departments.
  • Expertise in storytelling and world-building within a visual/interactive medium.
  • Enthusiasm for both the creative and technical responsibilities of the role.
BONUS IF YOU HAVE
  • Familiarity with Elite Dangerous; its lore, tone of voice, and continued development.
  • Knowledge of management simulation games (especially Frontier titles).

You will work with talented and passionate people to support, develop or publish our sophisticated and enduring games, in a creative, collaborative and inclusive environment. We love what we do, and we work hard to provide outstanding experiences for our players.

Wellbeing is a big focus at Frontier, and we are continually evolving how we can support our people. We encourage a healthy work/life balance and provide a range of wellbeing activities, initiatives and sessions to support both mental and physical health.
