Finance Analyst

A hands‑on finance role where you can learn, develop, and make an impact Your new company Hays is working with a leading construction/engineering organisation to recruit a finance professional with experience as a Finance Analyst to join an established team. Finance Analyst Permanent £35,000 Based in Leeds Your new role The purpose of the role will be to support senior members of the Finance team in managing central overhead and balance sheets.

The job offers great exposure to various aspects of finance and a chance to further develop your existing experience. Some of the key day to day duties will be:
Completing month‑end tasks, recharging costs, resolving queries, and working with central cost centres Ensuring accurate accounting and collaborating with AP and Credit Control for timely ledger closure. Preparing month‑end variance reports Owning and reconciling key balance sheet accounts Identifying and driving process improvements Supporting quarterly and annual budgeting, plus monthly forecasting Preparing VAT returns and assisting with corporation tax and other tax matters What you'll need to succeed Thinks analytically and can break down problems logically Degree in Finance AAT, CIMA or ACCA (Qualified or Part Qualified) Previous experience in an accounts or finance team Strong balance sheet reconciliation skills Ability to analyse large data sets and produce clear information for management Excellent Excel skills – Pivot Tables High attention to detail Positive, proactive attitude and strong teamwork skills
